Song of the Shofar, originally uploaded by Citrinepoint.

Every year the song of the Shofar calls to awaken us and return us to our path to G-d.

Erev Shel Shoshanim, originally uploaded by Citrinepoint.

Erev Shel Shoshanim is an Israeli love song that was played at my mother’s confirmation and eventually the inspiration for my name. The title translates to “Evening of Roses”

English translation of the lyrics:
It is an evening of roses
Let us go out to the garden
Myrrh, Spices, and Frankincense
Are as a carpet under your feet

Night falls gently
And a wind of roses blows
I’ll whisper a soft song for you
A song of pure love

Dawn and the dove coos
Your hair is full of dewdrops
Your lips are as roses unto the morning
I will pick them for myself

Night falls gently
And a wind of roses blows
I’ll whisper a soft song for you
A song of pure love

Stephansdom, originally uploaded by Citrinepoint.

If you ever happen to be in Vienna Austria you have to stop by this amazing historic building. The Stephansdom was perhaps the most exquisite and old pieces of architecture I have ever been around.
It’s absolutely huge and old. Here’s a photo so you can see the bits I had time to capture. The best thing about painting this was the other international tourists that came to sit next to me. It was a gorgeous day and perhaps getting to sit next to an artist helped add to their experience. I even got my photograph taken by Japanese tourists. :)

Vienna Woods, originally uploaded by Citrinepoint.

This is the Vienna Woods. The town I painted this in was called Kahlenberg, Austria. Here is a link a picture of where we were from the other end. If you look that little yellow church is where I was when I painted this painting.

Schonbrunn, originally uploaded by Citrinepoint.

This is the Shconbrunn Palace gardens in Vienna Austria where my husband and I took our honeymoon in October of 2006. The weather was gorgeous and I was able to paint En Pleine Air (on site). Vienna is a beautiful city so there was much to be inspired by.

A Strange Land, originally uploaded by Citrinepoint.

I wanted to capture an uneasy feeling of an unknown place….I think I got it…funny thing is, you begin to fall in love with it’s strangeness and want to escape there.

(Edit: The original for this work sold only few days after I uploaded it. From here on out I’ve decided to put a note in each work that has been sold and I’ve also created a category so they are all grouped together. If you like this work you can still buy a print of it on Imagekind )
